Jon Link, Coach

Jon Link Played 12 years in professional baseball. He made his Major League debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers April 20th 2010 against the Cincinnati Reds. He had 6 different call ups to the big leagues. Jon spent 5 years at the AAA level and another 4 and the AA level. He finished in the top 10 in his league in saves 3 different times and top 10 in appearances 4 times. His Major League resume includes recorded outs against Albert Pujols, Buster Posey, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Matt Holiday, Yadier Molina, and Edgar Renteria. In 2008 he was awarded the Southern League Relief Pitcher of the Year for the Chicago White Sox’ AA affiliate in Birmingham.

 

For his career, Jon has a 65-38 record with a 3.49 ERA with 106 saves in 512 games pitched.  Jon was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 26th round of the 2005 draft, and also selected by the Montreal Expos in the 45th round in 2002. In his career Jon played for the San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, Miami Marlins, and Detroit Tigers, along with the Wichita Wingnuts of the Independent American Association and the Tiburones de La Guaira in the Venezuelan Professional Winter League. He Played his college baseball at Bluefield College and was the first and only player ever from Bluefield to play in the Major Leagues. He also played 2 years at Virginia Commonwealth University. Jon Attended Chantilly High School in Chantilly Va.
